Bosch Washers Error Codes

# Error Solution
1 CL The Child Lock is activated. Please review your owner's manual to learn how to deactivate the child lock for your washer.
2 E:00 <-> -18 The pump is blocked (obstructed). Clean the washer drain hose and/or the drain pipe. You may also need to perform pump maintenance to clear the blockage (see your owner's manual to learn how to do this).
3 E:00 <-> -23 There is water in the base and/or the appliance is leaking. Turn off the water tap and call Bosch Customer Support at 1-800-944-2904 for assistance.
4 E16 The door is not locked properly. Close the door properly (clicks audibly). In particular, a full load may prevent the door from closing properly. Check whether there is something jammed between the door and housing. Restart the program.
5 E17 The filters in the water connection or AquaStop hose are blocked or the water pressure is too low.
1. Clean the filters in the water supply hose. Attention: The AquaStop safety device contains an electric valve so do not immerse in water. Instructions: 1. Turn the tap off. 2. Take the hose off the tap. 3. Clean the filters using a small brush. 4. For appliances without an AquaStop, remove the hose from the back of the appliance. Take out the filter with pliers and clean it. 5. Reconnect the hose and check for leaks.
2. Fully turn on the tap and approximately 2.5 gallons (10 liters) of water per minute must flow out of the fully open tap. Contact your plumber if the water pressure is too low.
6 E18 The drainage hose is blocked or kinked.
1. Clean the filters in the water supply hose. Attention: The leaking water may be very hot with a risk of scalding. Set program to OFF. Pull out the main plug. Check whether the drainage hose has been installed without kinks. Loosen the hose clip on the siphon and carefully remove drainage hose and any residual water. Clean drainage hose and siphon spigot. Hold drainage hose in a bucket and select the DRAIN program. Connect drainage hose to the siphon and check for leaks.
2. Clean the pump. Attention: The leaking water may be very hot with a risk of scalding. Set program to OFF. Pull out the main plug. Open and remove service flap. Drain any water through the drainage hose by slowly removing the pump cover. Clean the interior, pump cover thread and pump housing. The impeller wheel of the pump must be able to turn. Re-insert the pump cover and screw on firmly. To check for leaks, pour 1 quart (1 liter) of water into the detergent dispenser. Check for leaks and then start the DRAIN program.
7 E32 An imbalance is detected. If the imbalance is too large, the spin cycle will not run, or it will reduce its speed to protect your appliance. In addition, the appliance will attempt to improve distribution of the laundry by several spin attempts. This will extend the program running time. Please wash large and small items together to reduce the imbalance. Make sure to close zippers and buttons on pillows and duvet covers.
8 E33 Detergent foam has been detected. Too much detergent or an old detergent was used. This may cause excessive foaming from the detergent compartment. This may happen when washing lightly soiled items. Reduce the amount of detergent. When washing slightly soiled laundry, the amount of detergent should be reduced. Information on the amount of detergent to use can be found on the detergent packaging.
9 E34 The door is not locked properly. Close the door properly (clicks audibly). In particular, a full load may prevent the door from closing properly. Check whether there is something jammed between the door and housing. Restart the program.
10 E80 There's a fault/error in the drive circuit. Faults can only be eliminated by an authorized technician. Contact Bosch Customer Support at 1-800-944-2904 for assistance.
